Career Highlights

Rey competed in the Relays as a high school student, community college student, college student and club athlete. During this period he evolved from a good prep jumper to a world class athlete. Rey won two NCAA Division II Championships while a student at Cal Poly, then advanced to win the NCAA Division I titles in those years as well. He was a member of the 1968 and 1972 U.S. Olympic teams, as well as the 1971 Pan-Am squad. Rey won an unprecedented six consecutive high jump titles at the Mt. SAC Relays, breaking or tying the meet record four times.
